Mediation Services Can Save You Money and Preserve Relationships
Dear CAI Members:
CAI’s Mediation Service provides a low-cost method for you to resolve conflicts in a non-hostile environment and find that common ground between you and a disputing party.
If you are an owner facing a dispute with your homeowners association, an HOA in disagreement with one of your owners, or a service provider in dispute with an HOA client and interested in preserving your relationship with the members of the board, committee members, community manager, etc., you may wish to consider CAI’s Mediation Service. Here are some additional considerations:
Our Mediation Services Committee was established to provide a low-cost, easy way to obtain a qualified, experienced source for mediating all types of disputes. The purpose of the Mediation Services Committee is to enlist, facilitate and coordinate qualified mediators to serve both the Chapter’s members as well as homeowners and vendors involved with community associations. Our mediators have agreed to provide their services at a reduced rate through the Chapter. This service is available to both members and non-members; however, CAI membership provides an even greater reduction in fees. All mediators are experienced and impartial.
The Chapter shall charge a flat $75 Administrative Fee for CAI Members (applies if you are one of the parties in the mediation) ($100 for Non-CAI Members), which shall be paid directly to the Chapter and submitted with the Request for Mediation Services Form (Download below). The Mediator’s fee shall be a flat $300 for three (3) hours. If the parties wish to continue the Mediation beyond three (3) hours, the cost must be mutually agreed to between the parties and the Mediator, which rate shall be fully disclosed to the parties prior to the commencement of the Mediation session.
To schedule a mediation or obtain more information, telephone the CAI Greater Los Angeles Chapter office at 323-254-9526. A staff member will put you in touch with one of our mediators, so you can take the first step towards resolution. Give it a try today. What do you have to lose?
