CAI-CLAC October Legislative Update
The Legislative Session is officially done. The deadline for the Governor to act on Legislation was midnight September 30. In all, he acted on over 1,200 bills, vetoing 15.7% of the bills that reached his desk.
Thank you to everyone who answered our Call to Action! We sent more the 1,200 messages to the Governor asking him to sign AB 2159. The result of our efforts ended with the Governor signing both AB 2159 and AB 2460. Electronic voting is now an option for Associations in California!
Needless to say, our legislative year was quite successful and that’s due in part to the hard work of our members, supporters and Chapters. Thank you to everyone for making this a great year for Associations and their members throughout California.
Even though we just wrapped up one session, we are starting the process to plan for next year. Our Annual Legislative Planning Meeting (APM) will be held October 25th. Please mark your calendar for Thursday, December 5, 2024 to join us for a Virtual Town Hall: The Year in Review + A Look Ahead to 2025 to hear all about what CAI-CLAC will be working on in 2025.
