Suitcasing Policy
CAI-GLAC holds educational and networking events and encourages business partner members to exhibit at or sponsor these events. In some cases, business partner members can purchase a ticket to attend without sponsoring or exhibiting. In these cases, CAI-GLAC has a no-tolerance policy regarding "suitcasing," which describes the practice by non-sponsoring companies or individuals of soliciting sales or sales leads during Chapter events, including social activities. Non-exhibiting/non-sponsoring business partners participating in the event as attendees or speakers are prohibited from activities such as soliciting business or passing out business cards or marketing flyers during sessions. It is acceptable to provide a business card to another attendee upon request, to share information about your company’s services when asked by another attendee, or to schedule a meeting with a prospective client to be held outside of the hours of the CAI-GLAC event.
